The Dance Eclectic uses some third party applications, such as Google Analytics, Mail Chimp widget for WordPress, and contact forms to collect information from visitors to our site. Google Analytics and Jetpack
We use Google Analytics to collect information such as cookies, IP address, and site usage data. This data is automatically collected when visiting The Dance Eclectic’s site. This information helps us learn about visitors and how they interact with our website so that we can better tailor our website and marketing efforts. It also allows us to tailor a site visitor’s experience (for example, if you opt out of a pop-up, so long as you have cookies enabled, that pop-up shouldn’t appear for the rest of your visit to our site).
The information gathered via Google Analytics and Jetpack does not enable us to know your identity.

Mail Chimp and submission forms
Site visitors have the option of voluntarily submitting information about themselves through our site (such as in the case of signing up for our email newsletter via the Mail Chimp WordPress widget, filling out a form on our site to register for master classes, participate in a fundraiser, submit a donation, or request more information).
In these instances, the data that is collected is limited to the fields that the user fills out when submitting a form. This information is stored on our email servers and by Mail Chimp (who we use to send out email newsletters). We do not share any of this information with third parties except when it is necessary in order to fulfill the visitor’s request (an example of this might be sharing your registration information with the instructor of a master class that we are hosting, or sharing a submitted mailing address with a printer who is addressing direct mail pieces for us). We do not sell our site visitor’s information to any advertisers or third parties.
Site visitors who submit information through our website via a submission form accept that they will be automatically registered to receive email notifications germane to the activity they participated in on our website (i.e., if a user signs up for a master class, we will send you notifications about future master classes we are hosting). Users are also automatically registered for our newsletter. All email notifications and newsletters sent to site users will contain a link to unsubscribe from these email notifications and newsletters, should the user prefer not to receive them anymore.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (i.e. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Our payment and donation portals
We use PayPal to process all monetary transactions made through this site. The Dance Eclectic does not retain any payment information you may submit in the process of making a transaction or donation on this website.

Our donation portal is powered by Charitable. We collect information about you via Charitable during the donation process on our website. This information may include, but is not limited to, your name, address, phone number, credit card/payment details and any other details that might be requested from you for the purpose of processing your donations.
Handling this data allows us to:
- Send you important account/donation/service information.
- Respond to your queries, refund requests or complaints.
- Process payments and prevent fraudulent transactions. We do this on the basis of our legitimate organizational interests.
- Set up and administer your account, provide technical and donor support, and to verify your identity.
Additionally, we may also collect the following information:
- Your donor comments if you choose to leave them on our website.
- Cookies which are essential to keep track of your donation history whilst your session is active. This allows you to access your donation receipt without being a registered, logged in user.
- Account email/password to allow access to your account, if you have one.
- If you choose to create an account with us, your name, address, email and phone number, which will be used to populate the donation form for future donations.
Who has access to your data?
Our executive committee and some committee chairpersons have access to your data, and use it to fulfill requests submitted by users via a submission form, or Mail Chimp widget. Information gathered via Google Analytics and Jet Pack are accessible by our executive committee (specifically the website administrator and Communications Officers).
How long do we store your data?
Data is typically stored for as long as is necessary to fulfill a site user’s request. Data stored on our email server or Mail Chimp server may be stored indefinitely, or until a user requests that their data be deleted (please email us at admin@mesillavalleydance.com if at any time you would like for us to delete any data we have on file for you) or email notifications and newsletters be suspended.
In the event of legal action
The user’s personal data may be used for legal purposes by Mesilla Valley Dance Eclectic, in court or in the stages leading to possible legal action arising from improper use of our site or our related services. The user declares to be aware that Mesilla Valley Dance Eclectic may be required to reveal personal data upon request of public authorities.
User rights
Users have the right, at any time, to know whether their personal data has been stored and can email admin@mesillavalleydance.com to learn about their contents and origin, to verify their accuracy or to ask for them to be supplemented, cancelled, updated or corrected, or for their transformation into anonymous format or to block any data held in violation of the law, as well as to oppose their treatment for any and all legitimate reasons.
This site does not support “Do Not Track” requests.

Changes to this privacy policy
Mesilla Valley Dance Eclectic reserves the right to make changes to this privacy policy at any time by giving notice to its users on this page. It is strongly recommended to check this page often, referring to the date of the last modification listed at the bottom. If a user objects to any of the changes to the policy, the user must cease using the site and can request that Mesilla Valley Dance Eclectic remove the user’s personal data. Unless stated otherwise, the then-current privacy policy applies to all personal data The Dance Eclectic has about its users.
