The Scarab Thief

Mesilla Valley Dance Eclectic presents The Scarab Thief

The Scarab Thief by Mesilla Valley Dance Eclectic

The Scarab Thief is a family-friendly show about friendship, adventure, and sacrifice inspired by story elements of the classic ballet, The Pharoah’s Daughter. Follow the adventures of an archeologist who, caught up in a windstorm in the deserts of Egypt, takes refuge in an ancient tomb full of riches, and a new friend who will take her on an adventure from the banks of the Nile River, through an ancient Egyptian court, and even to the grand scales of the Book of the Dead. Original choreography by the members of Mesilla Valley Dance Eclectic tell a story through genres of dance ranging from classical ballet, to modern dance, as well as saber twirling and live vocal performances.

Human Nature Contemporary BalletHuman Nature Contemporary Ballet

Human Nature Contemporary Ballet (HNCB) is a local dance company from El Paso, TX, founded by Rafael Chavez and Jose Barraza. HNCB uses dance as a way of self expression with Ballet forming the foundation for our movement. We push to show the humanity behind the art and remove the mystique placed on dance. Our goal is for our audience to see the dancers as people, not as the ethereal beings often portrayed in classical ballet. Dance is something that transcends language and connects us not only as people but as humans.
